Meet Alexandra and the ORIGIN Pelvic Care Story

Through my years of working with the female body and my own lived experiences I hold an incredibly rich reverence for the womb, which is how the name of this care was founded. ORIGIN Pelvic Care was named because it is a calling home, back to our center, back to our womanhood, and back to honoring the origin of life itself, the womb.

The womb plays a central role in a woman’s overall health, impacting all bodily systems. It is an essential part of our hormonal production and regulation, a critical influence in sexuality, and serves as a physical and energetic space of creation. It’s balance affects all reproductive and sexual structures, is the space in which life itself becomes, is gestated, and birthed from, and to top it off, resides within the center of the pelvic bowl.

ORIGIN Pelvic Care brings women back into their center to be deeply cared for in the way they deserve so they can remember the beauty of their womanhood and declare what that gets to be —in optimal health.

My Unique Approach

My approach to pelvic care is to uphold deep reverence and respect for the sacredness of the body, uniquely for each woman. This care is founded upon a my belief that we deserve so much more for our womanhood, and that it is not only important and transformational on the individual level but essential to our world to more greatly care for women and their wombs.

ORIGIN Pelvic Care upholds the sanctity of the female body. It honors each woman’s right to live empowered within her center, and it endorses immense respect and value for our reproductive and sexual health.

My point of view is that care should empower women to feel confidence in their bodies and lives while initiating greater health outcomes. We make that a reality through unprecedented care that standard medicine can’t and doesn’t provide to women.

This care is holistic and integrative, trauma informed and individually based, and it fosters well-woman care for life.

Devotional Bodywork

By infusing these elements of care with groundbreaking science and research, and the irreplaceable wisdom that has come from working with hundreds of women, ORIGIN Pelvic Care weaves together a foundation of care for woman that results in optimal sexual and reproductive wellness.

I refer to this care as devotional bodywork. I call it such because the foundation of this care is to allow time and space for the body to find safety, and to soften and open. It is from this place that true, lasting healing occurs. It is also from this place that women experience deep inner wisdom.

ORIGIN Pelvic Care is held within a ceremonial care setting to create trust and safety in the space. It is a warm environment for women to sink into, be nourished by, and to feel their importance within.

Throughout the session and in working together, women are further educated and supported with additional self-care tools and practices that aid the continuation of their wellness. I believe that body literacy is body empowerment, and there is nothing more powerful than a woman deeply cared for and connected to herself.

Some women say this care is like a miracle. A miracle is the work of divine agency. When a woman’s agency is restored and she remembers the divinity of her own body then miracles become a natural aspect of care… I believe this is what all care should aim for.

Alexandra’s Personal Story

Through and through, I’m here for our womanhood. My own lived experience as a young woman finding her way in her body, menstruation, and sexuality is what inspired me to found ORIGIN Pelvic Care. From an eight year eating disorder, the loss of my menstrual cycle, and complete disconnection to my body and sexuality, I was aching for care that felt like it didn’t exist and a connection to my body that I didn’t believe was possible. I was 10 when my eating disorder developed, 18 when I went to school to become a Women’s Specialty Nurse, and 22 when I began further education, study, and research around Women’s Pelvic, Reproductive, and Sexual Health.

Through my journey of coming home to my own body, restoring my menstrual cycle, and remembering the sacredness of my sexuality, an immense passion began to brew within me for women’s health, embodiment, and advocacy. This passion quickly became my life’s mission. I knew that I HAD to be a part of paving the way for other women to experience better health outcomes through a foundation of support, education, and attuned care.

From standard allopathic care, to more for your womanhood…

I was trained as a Women’s Specialty Nurse at the nation’s #1 hospital, the Mayo Clinic. During this time, I learned and discovered so much about the female body through anatomy and physiology, birth experience, and more. It was later while working on a Women’s Specialty Unit that I discovered how unsupported women’s health is, facing the realities of how many women experience infertility, traumatic births, hysterectomies, oophorectomies, ovarian cysts, and invasive reproductive surgeries with little to no support or education.

As I faced alarming rates and realities of Women’s Health outcomes, I could feel it within my body that there was another way, and that there gets to be more for our womanhood. I had began to live it within my own journey, and I was determined to be a part of bringing that “more” into the world of Women’s Health.

I began to wonder where our preventative care was, why women had no pre-surgical or post-surgical care for body and incisions. I didn’t understand why birth control was the only answer for reproductive health. I felt frustrated that our sexuality was hardly discussed or respected. I became astonished at the rates of tearing during birth and felt grief that women didn’t receive pre-natal or post-partum care, and most importantly, because of everything I saw, I asked Where is our pelvic care?because I was well aware that the pelvic bowl is the center of the body, housing the reproductive organs and sex centers, and that the pelvic bowl not only deserved, but needed care in all of these cases.

So I exited the traditional Nursing role and founded ORIGIN Pelvic Care.

Origin Pelvic Care is a well-woman care response.

It is birthed from my own heart and womb as a prayer for our womanhood, because it believes in more for our womanhood. It offers well-woman care that nourishes women’s reproductive and sexual health in such a way that fosters optimal wellness throughout ones lifetime.

I am here to see women embodied in their bodies, fertility, and sexuality. I am here to see women well at all stages of womanhood, richly cared for and nurtured, living empowered lives. I am here to take down rates of invasive surgeries, and to educate women on greater possibilities.

The journey of menstruation, love, sexuality, fertility, birth, and so much more all begins within the pelvic bowl. The womb [uterus] and all reproductive/sexual spaces, tissues, and organs need care for optimal function and for women to experience the beauty, pleasure, and gifts of their body. As such pelvic care is essential to our health. This field is so underserved and undereducated. Most women don't know that this care exists. Through the initiative of Origin Pelvic Care I very much plan to change that.

My own journey offered me the lived experience of women’s health. The experience I have had in the Western Care setting as a Women’s Specialty Nurse became the fertile foreground of a greater vision and of the actualization of a new paradigm of women’s care.

ORIGIN Pelvic Care is a revolutionary paradigm of sexual and reproductive health. It values each woman and the vitality and wellness she experiences within her own center. I have since worked with hundreds of women and have witnessed first-hand the immensely positive and transformative impact of this care. When women are taken care of the world is taken care of. By claiming this care for oneself we are shifting the future for not only our own lives, but the lives of our friends, sisters, daughters, and communities. We are meant to be stewards of our centers as women. We are meant to live in sexual and reproductive wellness. We are meant to experience better birthing outcomes. We are meant to feel empowered in our bodies.

It is from here that we can experience a life of health, beauty, and joy, which is our birthright. I have witnessed the way that this naturally becomes possible through the health and wellness of our pelvic space.

So, this is ORIGIN Pelvic Care.

Where the fullness of your womanhood is tended, where you may experience the sacredness of your center, and what becomes possible when you are rooted in wellness within your pelvic bowl.

I hope you join me.

When women are taken care of, the world is taken care of. By claiming this care for oneself we are shifting the future for not only our own lives, but the lives of our friends, sisters, daughters, and communities.
